Background

LEAD Consulting was established in 2015. The firm is led by José Pedro Soeiro with a strong track record in corporations’ restructuring and project development and management in infrastructure and industry segments, with strong expertise in emerging markets.

LEAD Team have a deep understanding of emerging markets and their dynamics, developed by years of experience in the field by the Founder and LEAD expertise partners.

Philosophy

The world is becoming an increasingly complex and multi-dimensional space. Despite our unprecedented access to information, many of the most important forces that affect our lives and our day to day activities can become incredibly challenging to follow, let alone understand.

The corporate world finds itself in the midst of a change in the global paradigm. The exponential speed at which this change is taking place, humans, machines and businesses are interconnecting, and economies are becoming increasingly interdependent throughout the globe, is moulding and defining how businesses act and either die, survive or thrive. This challenge is applicable to all countries, providing the less developed markets with increasing dimensions of change – but also more opportunities to increase value and at a stronger pace.

Our Value Proposition

Based on our experience, we have developed a value proposition to provide corporate entities with a Project Management Framework tool for projects implementation cycles that are Industry best practices, adapted to emerging markets challenges.  LEAD assists our Clients in most of the Project life cycle, from the idea development until the project delivery.   

1. Idea/Product Development

With LEAD’s market understanding and analytical expertise, we perform an Idea/Product Testing Lab, allowing our Clients to have an independent scenarios analysis, for Go no GO decision during the first steps of the Project Cycle. Along with the market potential evaluations, LEAD also looks at production and distribution pros and cons for each idea, taking in consideration the emerging markets production and logistics complexities.

2. Business Plan Development

Once the first step of the Idea Development is succeeded, the Idea needs to proof its financial strengths. Emerging markets are less predictable than the developed ones. Using LEAD Business Plan Analysis Framework for emerging markets, we bring lateral thinking to our Client’s Analysis. “What If” risk assessment framework tests the Business Plan into the limit of an unpredicted “Black Swan” situation.

3. Project Financing

Once the Business Plan is proven, there is a need to decide the financing structure.

LEAD financing framework analysis combines the Shareholder’s ROE limits with Country Risk Management and Banks Financing Interest Rate.

Scenario analyses are detailed, including stress test to the project profitability, according to interest rates evolutions.

After financing structure is decided by our Clients, LEAD assists Client’s presenting the Project to Financial Institutions.

4. Project Design

In order to assist our Client in engineering design for project implementation, LEAD partners with engineering project development experts design companies, working along with them to deliver the most efficient project, adapted to emerging markets circumstances.

5. Project Business Negotiation Cycle

In Emerging markets, it is critical to look for potential customers upfront demand before project implementation phase begins. LEAD assists its Clients promoting the project to its potential customers and assist in the negotiation phase with them.

Also, from service providers side, LEAD assist in negotiating with the most critical service providers. It is about obtaining the most balanced contracts, ensuring that the project is legally and technically secured before starting implementation phase.

6. Project Set Up Phase

Also, LEAD assists its clients in obtaining the needed legal permits and ensuring that all the logistics of the project are working in field site. After this step, the project is ready to start.

7. Project Process Management

Specially in emerging markets, unpredictable circumstances are common. With a team of Project Management Experts, LEAD can follow each step of the plan, in order to anticipate and mitigate execution risks, allowing project to be kept on budget and on time. 

8. Asset Delivery

When the last phases are approaching, once the Assets building are under way and approaching its final phases, it is critical to maintain a focus on the last phases, ensuring that all service providers works are according to specifications, ensuring that the Asset delivery is under the stakeholders’ expectations, and, once again, ensuring that all legal and administrative permits are in place in order to allow the built Asset to be explored. 

9. Project Ending Tasks

The end of the project life cycle includes the closing of all contracts, ensuring all project securities are in place, ensuring that all financial planning is under way, and ensuring that all project documentations are audited and completed.

LEAD assists its Clients until the very ending of the Project Cycle.
